Natural silk is prized for its smoothness, lightness, and delicate feel. Its subtle luster comes alive in motion, and the fabric falls in soft, fluid folds. Silk pajamas or a silk robe feel exceptional against the skin and add elegance to everyday rituals.

In the BOBRAND collection we use 100% natural Italian silk at 19 momme — approx. 83 g/m².

How Natural Silk Feels

Silk is smooth, soft, and delicate. At first touch it may feel slightly cool, then gradually warms to your body. The smooth surface glides over the skin for a feeling of lightness — very different from matte cotton or soft flannel.

Warm or Cool?

19 momme silk is comfortable at home in different seasons. It absorbs moisture and doesn’t feel heavy. In a warm room silk pajamas feel light, and in a heated home they work in winter too.

If you want warmer loungewear for a cool room, see flannel or velour. Comfort depends on room temperature, the cut, and how sensitive you are to heat and cold.

How It Wears

Natural silk is a delicate fabric that needs gentle handling. Rough surfaces, hook-and-loop fasteners, or sharp jewelry can cause snags.

Creases may appear while wearing and after sleeping — a natural trait of silk. Heavy friction, direct sun, and improper washing can affect color and luster. Following the care instructions keeps your piece beautiful longer.

Washing, Drying, and Ironing

  • Check the care label. Care depends on the fabric, finishing, and color combination. Some styles are dry clean only.
  • If hand washing is allowed, use cool water at the temperature on the label and a silk-specific detergent.
  • Don’t soak for long, rub, or wring. Gently press out water with a clean towel.
  • Air dry in the shade, away from heaters. Don’t tumble dry unless the label allows it.
  • Iron inside out on low, using the silk setting. Avoid spraying water — drops can leave marks.

Who Natural Silk Is For

For those who love smooth fabrics, a delicate touch, and a subtle sheen, and are happy to give their favorite pieces a little extra care. The choice for quiet evenings, slow mornings, and beautiful rituals at home.

If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative with a similar sheen and fluid drape, discover viscose silk. It has a different composition and its own wear and care characteristics.

For every style, follow the composition and care label first, especially with contrast piping, lace, or feathers.
